Innovative Ayurvedic Catering Technology for Certified Learners

At the department of technology of restaurant and ayurvedic products the certificate program "Technologies in hotel and restaurant business" has started.

During the first session, the students of the program got acquainted with innovative restaurant technologies of Ayurvedic food.

According to Ayurvedic science, a person's diet and diet must be in accordance with his constitution (dosage ratio), which is laid down before birth and determines the behavior, temperament, natural inclinations and preferences.

Together with Assistant Professor Natalia Yushchenko, the students passed the test and determined the individual constitution, learned about the factors influencing the balance of the body's energy system, including the season and weather conditions, stresses, too busy working hours or excessive physical activity. Failure to take appropriate action in time will deepen the imbalance and may cause disease, etc.

Also, the students were introduced to the basic recommendations of the Ayurvedic science on the diet for people with different constitutions and its adjustment to compensate for the imbalance.

During the lab, the students learned how to prepare masala teas for different milk and water-based constitutions, with the addition of natural sweeteners and a mixture of spices (called "masala"), as well as making delicious and healthy Ayurvedic sweets based on dried fruits, honey and nuts.

Acquaintance with Ayurveda has caused the students a desire to expand and deepen this knowledge, which will find their use in further professional activity and become a part of life.
