      The Department of Technology of Restaurant and Ayurvedic Products (TRAP) is the only graduating Department in Ukraine, which since 2017 has started training specialists in the speciality 181 "Food Technologies", specialization "Ayurvedic Food Technologies". The necessity to train specialists in this area conditioned by the global trends in the development of modern restaurants focused on the fundamentally new generation of food - Ayurvedic food. The Department also prepares specialists in the speciality 181 "Food Technologies" of educational qualification level "Bachelor" and "Master" in the specialities "Food Technology", "Technology in the restaurant industry".

 

     The teaching staff of the department consists of 1 professor, 11 docents, 4 senior lecturers, 6 assistants. Teachers of the department carry out the educational process of 40 disciplines for full-time and part-time students of educational qualification level "bachelor" and "master". Recently teachers of the department have developed electronic training courses for distance learning. To further improve the educational process, teachers of the department are working on the development of manuals, laboratory workshops, methodological recommendations, test tasks in all disciplines following the requirements of national and world trends in the development of restaurant industry.

 

      Teachers of The TRAP regularly improve their professional skills through internships at leading European and global educational institutions. They put their experience into the training process to provide training for highly qualified, competitive professionals in the service area.

 

      The TRAP department has a research laboratory for evaluating the quality of raw materials and final products, a technology laboratory for the technology of restaurant production, a modern laboratory for bar and sommelier work and a computer class. The material and technical base of the department is constantly updated. By arrangement and equipment, training laboratories are fully fit the requirements of the time and are equipped with the most up-to-date equipment from leading world manufacturers.

 

      Practical training of future specialists is carried out by passing educational, industrial and undergraduate practice at the most modern domestic enterprises of the restaurant industry, for example: in the chains of restaurants "World Map", "Tarantino Family", "Gastro Family"; in restaurants at «Inter-Continental Hotel», «Premier Palace Hotel», «Hilton», «President

Hotel», «Hyatt», «Dnipro», «Bratislava», «Kyiv», «Tourist», «Radisson».

 

      Since 2019, students of The TRAP Department have the opportunity to have industrial and technological internships abroad, particular in Bulgaria. This makes it possible not only to gain the first significant industrial experience but also to increase skills in foreign languages.

 

      During the educational process, students participate in international and Ukrainian competitions, Olympiads, scientific-practical conferences, exhibitions, workshops, culinary skills competitions.

 

     Studying at the TRAP department allows students to receive high-quality education; the opportunity to study at the masters, postgraduate and doctoral level; to study foreign languages ​​in depth; to get a second higher education; to participate in Ukrainian and international conferences; co-operate and establish business contacts with potential employers; possibility of practice and employment at modern enterprises of restaurant business both in Ukraine and abroad.
